From survival to purpose — and why that matters for you.
My last hope was a call center job.
I didn't even know what a call center was. I just knew it paid better than the options I had.
At the time, I had a young child, no financial stability, and very few choices. Taking that job wasn't part of a grand career plan — it was survival.
One day during training, we had an exercise about listening skills. The story they used hit me harder than anyone realized. My trainer noticed something was wrong and asked if I was okay.
I admitted I didn't have enough money for transportation to get to work the next day.
Without hesitation, he reached into his pocket and handed me ₱500. It was enough to cover my fare for the week.
That moment changed my life.
I promised myself I would never be in that position again.
So I worked. I studied every process, chased every KPI, learned every opportunity I could, and eventually earned promotions into leadership and training. Over the next 20 years, I had the privilege of training more than 1,000 people across the industry.
The BPO industry changed my life.
But as my career grew, I noticed something that never sat right with me.
People were getting promoted. People were earning better salaries. Some were already managers and leaders. Yet many were still living paycheck to paycheck.
The industry had become incredibly good at teaching people how to do their jobs. But almost no one was teaching them how to build careers, grow wealth, start businesses, use AI to stay competitive, or create financial freedom.
That's the gap I couldn't ignore.
BPO & Beyond exists because I believe the industry that gave so many of us an opportunity can also become the place where people learn to build the future they truly want.
Not just a better job. A better career. A better business. A better financial future.
